The Power of Words

Part One – What is an Incantation?

At the beginning of this year I was told in a journey to work with magic and spells.

This did not appeal to me at all – sounds like witchcraft, evil intent and interfering with nature – and made me think of scary things like being burned at the stake. My deep Christian background rears its head and cries no, but my inner soul-spirit is once again prodded into observation, learning and reflection. Because you see, I have told spirit I am willing – I am willing to go on, to be uncomfortable with myself, to grow – but only in the name of love and healing, only in the light of wisdom and heart. Spirit is most obliging and thus I travel new roads of experience and understanding – sometimes a little like a frightened child peeking around the corner into a room full of warmth and light, afraid to see that it is safe and alright.

Clean Your House! Land Healing

I found this post unpublished in my archives and wanted to update you on this little house before you read its state in 2015 described below. Contractors came in another time to clean it up and removed the roof to put on extended dormers for a second floor. While that was happening I stopped by several times and did clearing work – letting out the trapped energies of an unhappy past clear through the roof, cleansing the home and land from disturbances and restoring health and blessing to it. Today it flourishes with a new walk and gate, it holds an air of cute happiness and cleanliness, and has not changed hands since this work was completed. It is a joy to do this work! Thoughts on War, Peace and Compassion

This weekend we had a family “incident”.

Someone had made a decision based on what they thought were good criteria. They may even have had personal complications that impacted that decision. We are, after all, quite human, and sometimes even our best judgments and perceptions are tainted by our own issues and difficulties. The result was that another member felt quite hurt and left out. Many harms and offenses done are intentional. Just as many are not. In this case I am sure no harm was intended, none the less it was done, and offense was taken.

I work with the Irish – a Flaherty, a Gallant, and a McCarthy. Tempers can flare, and when they do sparks can fly and people duck down in their cubes. The office gets very silent and intense.

If you unwittingly walk into the middle of an exchange of tempers you can get hit – right in the solar plexus – the power center – and get the sunshine dumped out of your sails, like I did one recent morning.
