Throughout January spirit has been nagging at me to write out the full tarot reading for the year that almost pulled itself out of my hands last Dec 10th as I was contemplating the coming year of 2022. I thought I was pulling one card and ten came in rapid succession, creating a Celtic Cross reading akin to the one I pulled for 2021 as we headed into a more hopeful horizon last January. As you may or may not know, I have a strong pull to work with global conditions – political and climate oriented – and have posted different readings and journeys in different groups recently. Thus the emergence of these Tarot readings – some of which are completely unplanned but evolve and pop out on their own when I think I am doing something else. I then realize the depth of my heart has been asking the question and the cards have responded even when I try not to pay attention to myself.

There has been a lot of conversation in the healing community lately around awareness and active participation in matters of race, justice, and equality. The concern at hand is that many in the healing arts and alternative fields tend regard themselves as too spiritual to be involved with these issues. They are above around and through it all because, after all, it is all about oneness and that is what we all are. The dodge is to be a good, neutral, open and welcoming to all individual and divest oneself of any further responsibility. After all, the healing arts are not political. They are not social justice venues. They are personal healing venues.
Spiritual practice has exploded upon the public sector recently. From the successful introduction of meditation into schools, to plentiful yoga and Tai Chi studios, the observation of Jewish, Muslim and Christian faiths and the popularity of western Buddhism, we are a people preoccupied with the search for spiritual connection.
