Reiki and Conflict
At work we have a sign: Don’t Rile the Redheads
I work with the Irish – a Flaherty, a Gallant, and a McCarthy. Tempers can flare, and when they do sparks can fly and people duck down in their cubes. The office gets very silent and intense.
If you unwittingly walk into the middle of an exchange of tempers you can get hit – right in the solar plexus – the power center – and get the sunshine dumped out of your sails, like I did one recent morning.
What to do when the redheads rue?
When fire and temper demand their due? Take a deep breath, down into your hara, and breathe out Reiki. Keep breathing; Reiki in, Reiki out, and follow your guidance. Mine was to stay very quiet and gentle and open, and send Reiki to the situation.
The fires abated. The tension lessened. Apologies were made.
And most importantly, my energy fields were protected and undepleted – the good, positive, gentle, loving ones – because I did not join the rage by flaring back at the flack coming my way.
Reiki is the way to walk peaceably through conflicts and accusations.
Spirit is teaching me to trust in my own inner guidance system when in a storm of conflict. I have a warrior archetype in my makeup – it is easy to trip me up with a sense of righteous judgment, flipping my switch to out of control with self-righteousness. To be accused and accused and not react is an amazing work of spirit in me. I am able to save the warrior spirit for the places its energy is truly constructive and beneficial, using my power and energy wisely.
I am learning it is not so bad to be unjustly accused, or harshly accused, justly or not. It is not so bad to be completely contradicted. It is in fact sublimely survivable, with an inward peacefulness that needs tending through the exercise of the muscles of trust, patience, love, forgiveness and acceptance. I am humbled by spirit and once again in awe of what a daily practice of Reiki does in a person. Namaste.
– Do not overlook the importance of Reiki being a daily practice. Take time for it before your begin your busy-ness. Without it, you can quickly lose your center and your ability to respond instead of react.
