You can Google this topic and find any number of responses, most with similar aspects. What I will share with you here is what happens for you at Crystal Reiki.
Your Reiki time with me actually starts as soon as you book your appointment. Once you have made a commitment to come for a Reiki session, you and I are on a spiritual journey together as we both prepare for your appointment. Our session together enters into my morning meditation and I hold you in loving care to the universe for its blessing on our Reiki journey.
This is also a time of preparation for you as well. Pay attention to the things that come up in your life, and spend some time setting an intention for yourself for your session.
At the time of your appointment, special care is taken to prepare the space for your Reiki session. All appointments either take place in cleared space at The Gentle Place Wellness Center or at Crystal Reiki Wellness in Wayland. I also offer home appointments. When I come to your home I spend time clearing and creating a healing space for Reiki in your home. Once a clear and gentle space is established for you, I then prepare the physical aspects of the room, setting up the Reiki table, laying out crystals or choosing music and sounds to best support you in your healing journey. I then spend time in mediation to prepare myself to be a clear channel for Reiki to flow during your session.
When you arrive, you are asked to complete some brief forms if this is your first visit. These provide you with information about Reiki treatment and about myself as your practitioner, and also provide me with basic information about you, your current state of health, whether you have received Reiki before, your preferences for receiving Reiki, and if there are any specific needs or concerns you would like to bring to your Reiki session.
This before session space is also cleared space where you may take a moment to leave your busyness and enter into quietness in preparation for your Reiki session. Please take advantage of the meditative nature of the space.
When you are invited into the treatment area, I will always take a few minutes to chat with you – reviewing your information if this is a first visit, or catching up with what has gone on since your last visit if we are meeting again. During this time, I may suggest various “Chiryo” or Reiki healing methods to aid and support you in your intention for our time together.
Unlike massage, Reiki is received fully clothed, hands on or hands off depending upon you – often a combination of both depending on the session and your preferences. The table is designed to keep you comfortable and warm, so please let me know if you need anything. I also offer Reiki in chair sessions for those who are not able to use a Reiki table.
Your session will begin with setting a gentle intention for your Reiki treatment.
There is nothing you need to do during a Reiki session. You don’t even need to be in a good frame of mind – you may be swirling in the mists of stress or confusion or pain. That will make no difference in your treatment and you cannot diminish the treatment by being in a less than perfect place in either your mind, body or spirit! What does assist you in receiving Reiki is being open and perhaps a bit curious if this is your first session.
Another question I answer before beginning to work with a client is about what to expect during a Reiki session. The experience of Reiki is as varied as the individual coming for a session. A common response is that you may become deeply and pleasantly relaxed, you may feel, sense or see things, or you may not notice or feel anything at all. Just because you do not perceive anything does not mean that nothing is happening. We all have very different responses and sensitivities. Reiki is always flowing to you during a Reiki session. There is always a beneficial response whether you recognize one or not. Reiki has been found to have no known contraindications as of this time, and is widely used in hospitals and hospice settings for its ability to promote healing and recovery.
As your session draws to completion we will again take time to share anything that you may like to following your Reiki session. I may offer a brief grounding practice you may choose to use at home to help maintain the sense of balance and clearness you may have begun to experience during your session. I may offer a gemstone angel card reading if you so choose. These often provide a piece of spiritual wisdom and blessing as you leave the healing space.
Reiki is cumulative, so there may be continuing beneficial effects following your session. I encourage everyone to keep a small journal to record thoughts, feelings and happenings for a period of hours or days following a treatment. Pay attention and be gently aware and make note of what transpires for you. Often we are so immersed in the doingness of our lives we do not notice the state of our being in our day-to-day. Try not to judge or determine if something is or is not a result of receiving Reiki, simply record it. You can look back later and make that determination for yourself as you go on.
Our Reiki journey continues past our scheduled time together for me as well as I hold you in Reiki light for the next couple of days, supporting and surrounding you with absent Reiki for your continued health and well-being. I love to hear back from you with any comments or observations you may like to share following your treatment, and consider it an honor to have been invited to offer you Reiki therapy.
Namaste
Hi there! The question is not whether such a set of courses would be too much for a person but what would be appropriate for you. Each of us has individual needs and capacities in life and it is important that we follow our inner and outer guidance about how best to proceed. For myself, I would tend to take the drumming (which I find connective and healing) with either the Reiki or the Crystal Healing. Reiki has different levels and can be quite a commitment in itself. Crystal Healing is also an involved subject. Both of these disciplines involve working over time with the modality you have chosen. If you feel comfortable moving ahead with them at the same time, then do. For me, I like to be able to fully invest myself in new areas one at a time. As to the emotional factor, healing modalities tend to support and enhance emotional well-being and a sense of balance. Over-extending yourself will cause you to feel emotionally drained or taxed. If you tend to over-extend yourself, maybe this is the time to slow down and take spirit’s offerings one at a time. Use your inner wisdom to guide you in this. I would be happy to work with you individually over this decision if you like. Feel free to email me at HealingHands@CrystalReikiEnergy.com. Blessings as you follow your spiritual path.
I need your guidance as to whether or not taking 4 classes (Karuna Reiki, Drumming class, and Crystal Healing both beginning and intermediate level)would be too much emotionally for a person to take.
